Tornados Open Outdoor Campaign at Montreat College Open

MONTREAT, N.C. – Brevard closed out the Montreat Open with a competitive showing in the field event, wrapping up the two-day event on a high note.
 
The Tornados started strong in the men's discus, as Antonio King finished fifth to lead  Brevard at 43.55 m, with Donningtun Walters, Cameron Eubanks, and Henry Tarte finishing seventh, eighth, and ninth respectively. Noah Westbrook rounded out the Tornados in the event, placing 25th.
 
In the women's shot put, the Tornados were led by a tenth place finish from Anne Herring with a 9.21 mark. Tori Gates followed, placing 16th at 8.45m.
 
Tyrell Bailey led Brevard in the men's long jump with a 6.44m jump, shortly followed by Ty Breeze in seventh at 6.12m.
 
In the women's discus, Kadence Howell paced BC with a ninth place finish at 30.73m. Tori Gates followed in 16th at 22.75m.
 
Cameron Eubanks finished fifth in the men's shot put with a 15.10m throw, followed by Noah Westbrook and Antonio King in seventh and eighth, respectively. Donningtun Walters finished 12th, followed by Henry Tarte in 19th. In the high jump, Noah Osuji finished 12th at 1.70m.
 
Makynna McDonald continued her momentum from her indoor season, placing first in the long jump with a 5.62m jump. Imani Singleton finished seventh at 5.16m.
 
In the men's triple jump, Jaxsen Wilkerson and Tyrell Bailey finished back-to-back in first and second place, followed by Ty Breeze in seventh.
 
Brevard had a handful of competitors in the men's hammer throw, led by Cameron Eubanks in tenth, shortly followed by Antonio King in 11th. Donningtun Walters and Henry Tarte finished 14th and 15th, while Noah Westbrook finished 19th.
 
In the final event of the weekend, the women's triple jump, Makynna McDonald finished fourth at 10.74m.
 
Brevard will look to build on a successful weekend at the Blue Bear Invitational on Saturday, March 28.
