Scott Tucker Named Director of Brevard College Women’s Lacrosse

BREVARD, N.C. - Scott Tucker has been selected as the Director of the Brevard College women's lacrosse program, announced Associate Vice President of Athletics Dr. Myranda Crews. His duties will begin immediately.

"We are thrilled to welcome Scott Tucker to lead our women's lacrosse program at Brevard College," stated Dr. Crews. "Coach Tucker brings a tremendous passion for developing student-athletes both on and off the field, along with the experience and leadership needed to build a competitive and championship-minded culture. We are excited for the future of Brevard women's lacrosse under his direction and look forward to the impact he will make within our department and campus community."

Tucker joins Brevard following 23 seasons at the helm of Limestone University women's lacrosse with a record of 354-78 (.819) and 25 overall seasons as a collegiate head coach with an overall record of 375-89 (.814).

"From my first conversations with the leadership team and coaches, it was clear that Brevard College is committed to providing an outstanding student-athlete experience," commented Tucker. "I am deeply grateful to President Dr. Bradley J Andrews, Executive Vice President Juan Mascaro, and Dr. Myranda Crews for their confidence in me and their vision for the future of women's lacrosse at Brevard College."

"Women's Lacrosse continues to grow at an incredible pace, and I believe Brevard College is uniquely placed to become a destination program in women's lacrosse," continued Tucker. "I am looking forward to working alongside our current student-athletes, coaches, alumni, as well as future Tornados, as we build a championship level program that reflects the values and mission of Brevard College."

During his tenure at Limestone, Tucker reached unprecedented levels of consistency with championships. His teams won 18 regular season conference titles dating all the way back to 2004 and captured 14 conference tournament titles since the inception of the Conference Carolinas tournament with two additional South Atlantic Conference titles coming back-to-back in 2024 and 2025. Tucker's teams also made 12 NCAA tournament appearances (2004, 2006, 2008-14, 2018, 2021, and 2025) with four NCAA final fours and two appearances in the NCAA Division II National Championship (2011, 2013).

In 2013, Limestone's Maia Czarnecki became the first player in program history to win the NCAA's prestigious Elite 89 Award as the individual with the highest GPA competing at the NCAA Championships. Additionally, the Saints earned the IWLCA Academic Honor Roll every year since 2011. Among those years, the team received 5 Conference Carolinas Sportsmanship awards and had Sarah Munoz and Megan Smith both receive the IWLCA Community Service award.

It didn't take long for the success of the program under Tucker was recognized on the national level as his first recruiting class at Limestone led to the team being named the Most Improved Team in Division II by Inside Lacrosse in only his second season in Gaffney, South Carolina. That team went from 7-6 in his first year of 2002 to a 12-3 record in 2003. As a result, Tucker was nominated for National Coach of the Year honors that season by Inside Lacrosse.

In his 25 years as a head coach, Tucker has produced 53 All-Americans, 72 All-Region players, 132 All-Conference players, 51 Conference All-Tournament selections and six Freshmen of the Year. He has also coached nine conference-players of the Year.

Personally, Tucker earned Conference Coach of the Year honors during the 2004, 2006, 2008-19, and 2024 campaigns, and was named Synapse Sports Division II National Coach of the Year in 2006. Tucker earned the IWLCA regional coach of the year honors in 2011 and 2013 after competing for the National Championship. He is currently in the Division II top-two for most wins in a career and is among the top ten in wins and win percentage for all three NCAA Divisions. His 2011 team was inducted into the Limestone Athletics Hall of Fame.

In addition to his work at Limestone, Tucker was an assistant coach for the U-19 Canadian National Team during the 2011 and 2015 world cup seasons. In his first World Cup in 2011 Tucker served as offensive coordinator on the Bronze Medal winning team. In 2015 Tucker switched to the defensive side and served as the defensive coordinator on a team that won its first ever gold medal. That historic win resulted in the 2015 team being inducted into the Canadian Lacrosse Association Hall of Fame.

Prior to Limestone, Tucker spent two years as the head coach at Oswego State University in Oswego, N.Y. During those two seasons, his Lakers' teams compiled a 21-11 overall record and reached the SUNYAC Conference Championship in both seasons before falling to national power Cortland State.

In addition to his coaching career, Tucker has served on the NCAA Regional Advisory Committee, Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Association Board of Directors, the Rules Safety and Game Administration Committee (RSGA), All-Star Game Committee, and All-American Committee. He is also an active CWLOA/NCAA women's National Elite Lacrosse Official.

Among his other achievements is authoring three instructional videos in conjunction with Championship Productions. In 2017, Tucker was also inducted into the South Carolina Chapter of US Lacrosse's Hall of Fame.
