BREVARD, N.C. – Freshman Brevard College men's tennis student-athlete Ayden Montero was selected as the USA South Conference Men's Tennis Rookie of the Week for the second time this Spring after a strong individual showing in BC's 5-2 team victory over William Peace last Friday in Raleigh, North Carolina.
 
Montero, a freshman from Mandeville, Louisiana, earned a singles win at the number-two position last week for the Tornados in the team's lone match over the past two weeks. Montero dropped WPU's Angel Araiza 6-0, 6-1 to improve to 8-1 in singles play this season in BC's dual matches.
 
Montero has been a huge part of Brevard getting off to the program's best start to a season (8-1) in the NCAA era. He has competed in seven singles matches at the three-spot and holds a 2-0 record at the number-two line. In doubles play coming in dual matches, Montero holds a 6-2 record, including a 3-1 mark in top-flight doubles action.
 
The Tornados are back in action Tuesday at 3:30 p.m., hitting the road to battle Covenant in Lookout Mountain, Georgia.
