Quinn Joins BC Baseball Coaching Staff

BREVARD, N.C. – Brevard College baseball has announced the addition of Kevin Quinn to the coaching staff as Volunteer Assistant Coach. Quinn will work specifically with the catchers in addition to serving as a general assistant to the program.

"Since Kevin has joined the staff, he has made everyone around him better, including me," commented Head Baseball Coach Vinny Carone. "He asks a lot of questions, which shows his interest in the people he works with, but also challenges them to grow and think more deeply about the game. I believe even more important than his baseball knowledge and leadership abilities is his personal value system, making Kevin a great role model to have around the clubhouse."

Quinn, a former NCAA Division III student-athlete at Ferrum College, rejoins the Tornados ahead of the 2026 season after assisting Carone in the final weeks of the 2025 campaign.

Originally located in Virginia Beach, Virginia, Quinn was a widely-regarded leader in travel baseball and coaching in the area. Quinn was the founder and manager of the Virginia Beach-based travel team, Beach Bulldogs, which earned 11 tournament wins and several top-three finishes. Quinn managed Virginia Venom, a 16U squad ranked inside the top 150.

Quinn mentored several current and former collegiate players across all NCAA Divisions while in the 757 area code. Quinn managed VB18U and served as the president of the Virginia Beach Little League – a 1,200-player league across baseball and softball. During his time in VB, Quinn also maintained a coaching relationship with Ocean Lakes High School, including fundraising support for the OLHS baseball dome.

Since relocating to the Brevard area and concluding a 30-year career as an executive in mortgage banking, Quinn has volunteered his time as a volunteer coach and umpire in the Transylvania County Little League.

A 1987 graduate of Ferrum with a Bachelor's degree in Financial Management, Quinn was recruited to play catcher by legendary Ferrum coach Abe Naff. Quinn went on to become a three-year letter winner in the sport of Tennis, serving as team captain in 1987. Quinn was a Ferrum Athletics Hall of Fame nominee in 1995.
