JEFFERSON CITY, TENN. - Junior Stevie Williams (High Points, N.C.) and freshman Levi Lamb (Atlanta, Ga.) and JaMarquis Johnson (Minneola, Fla.) post double-digit point totals as the Brevard College Tornados (2-25, 0-21 SAC) dropped a 96-55 decision to the Carson-Newman Eagles (17-10, 14-7 SAC).
Lamb would finish with a team-high 14 points, shooting 6-12 from the field, while Williams added 13 points on 5-11 shooting. Johnson collected 11 points, while contributing a team-high eight rebounds and three assists for the contest.
For Carson-Newman, Carson Brooks would turn in the performance of the evening, posting a triple-double with 33 points, 11 rebounds and 11 assists. Malik Abraham finished with 16, shooting 3-6 from behind the three-point arc, while Sawyer Williams added 20 points on 8-10 shooting, pulling in four rebounds and blocking two shots.
Following an Eagles 16-0 run to open the evening, Brevard would battle back, cutting Carson-Newman's lead to 10 points at 20-10, aided by five-points from Williams.
The Tornados would trim the Eagles lead down to as few as seven points with 6:49 remaining, but clutch shooting enabled Carson-Newman to increase their lead to 19 points taking a 47-28 lead into the break.
Coming out halftime, Brevard would watch as the Eagles lead would grow to as many as 30 points, before, a jumper by Williams and a three-point basket by Johnson cut the lead back to 25 points with 13:16 remaining in regulation.
However, Carson-Newman would control the final 13-minutes of action as the Eagles managed to open up a 43-point lead over Brevard, taking the 96-55 decision at home.
The Tornados will close out the regular-season this coming Saturday, Feb. 25 as they travel to Newberry, S.C. to battle the fast-paced Newberry Wolves with action schedule to get underway at 4 p.m. following the women's game.
