BREVARD, N.C. – Brevard College senior forward Jadon Carnes was named the USA South Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week after an impressive individual week in league action for the Tornado men's basketball team.
 
Carnes, a senior forward from Concord, N.C., averaged 21.0 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 3.0 assists per game last week as the Tornados posted a 1-1 record against USA South foes. In a 96-90 loss at Greensboro, Carnes scored 23 points with six rebounds, and four assists. In an 85-74 victory over Methodist, Carnes totaled 19 points, six rebounds, two assists, and one steal.
 
Over the course of the 21 games so far this season, Carnes has led the Tornados with 16.8 points-per-game and 353 total points, hitting his field goals at a 56.4% clip going 132-for-234. The senior has drained 34 3-pointers to rank second on the team, and has hit his free throws at a 88.7% mark going 55-for-62. Carnes ranks second on the team in rebounds with 91 (4.3 rpg), and leads all Tornados with 89 assists.
 
Earlier this season, Carnes became the sixth Tornado in the NCAA era to eclipse the career 1,000 point mark. The standout senior has averaged 11.9 points-per-game throughout his Tornado career, scoring 1,150 total points while maintaining a 60.9% career mark from the field, a 40.9% mark from long distance, and an 85.1% clip from the free throw line. The forward has racked up 302 rebounds, 265 assists, 51 steals, and 19 blocks over his 97-and-counting games with Brevard.
 
Carnes and the rest of the Tornados continue their charge down the final stretch of the 2025-26 regular season on Wednesday, Feb. 11 at 7:30 p.m. at Pfeiffer in Misenheimer, N.C.
